Singapore Travel Diaries Day #2: Universal Studios

HEY EVERYONE, Im back with Day 2 of my Singapore trip :D. That day we went to UNVIERSAL STUDIOS!! So its about a 10 min taxi ride from our hotel to Sentosa Island (where pretty much all the theme parks and attractions in Singapore are)and that costed around $10.

First off, two pieces of advice from me if youre planning on going. Singapore, being the land of the never-ending summer, is really hot and steamy, whenever you go. Now fit that situation around a crowded-ass theme park and you get double steaminess. SO tip #1, bring a hat and plenty of water (drinks there are ripwe made that mistake and spent at least like $30 on drinks and ice blocks). Also there are lockers there for most of the rides so don't worry about bringing too much, you don't really need to carry it all, all the time.

Tip #2, buy the unlimited fast passes! It is quite expensive. I think the entry tickets were only $70 per adult but this thing was $80 per adult. At first I was a bit hesitant like, do we really need this.? But my bf insisted so we got them. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. You literally got to skip up to 2 hours of lining up. Most of the rides you have to wait inside some sort of building but because those were open air there was no air con. The body odours were hella rank, ok. OMG. You want to be outta there ASAP.

Obligatory photo with the globe :D

Another thing about Singapore that i LOVE; everyone is so friendly, especially when it comes to you asking for your photo to be taken. Everyone can at least speak english and mandarin so communication is super easy and if you can speak either of those, most people also know Singaporean and Malay! How awesome is that?

ANYWAYS we enter the park and by this point I was bouncing all over the place. The park is divided into these 7 different zones and the first one if you go in a clockwise direction is Hollywood".
No rides here but lots of souvenir shops, cafes and great for photos :D

I had to have my moment

Then if you keep walking you arrive at Sci-Fi City. There was robots and transformers and the bf was squealing like a kid =='

Selfie sticking as you do

See that monster of a ride behind us? Yes, the line for that was literally 3 hours long but luckily with the fast pass we waited only around 30mins, both times. Yes we took both the red and blue ride twice :D. Id recommended doing the red one first in preparation for the blue one because that one is hella scary D:.If youre looking for an adrenaline rush, this ride is definitely the way to go. The other rides in the park were childs play compared to this. Definitely one of my favourite rides.

Next, we wondered into Ancient Egypt and this was truly spectacular. A great place for photos but the rides are kinda meh.

Typical asian pose AHAHA

There was one ride though that was my second favourite. It involved riding a roller-coaster in the dark :D

Far Far Away was like a fairytale come true. Best destination for photos if that's what youre after. Like me OHOHO

If only this was my house OMNOMNOMNOM

SO PRETTY RIGHT??
There is also a 4D Shrek movie which is great for younger kids. I mean, and older kids, like me :D It was super realistic like when the Donkey spits, you legit get water splattered on your face, felt kinda gross but cool at the same time AHAH.

After about an hour of photos, my bf finally gets fed up and has to drag me to lunch. Everything there was pretty standard theme park food, all deep fried. Had some fried chicken which tasted like fish and some criss-cross chips. Meal was about $20 so mmm standard.

After lunch we wandered into the land of the "Lost World" i.e. dinosaur land. Pretty cool again for photos but the rides were really quite childish, probably more suitable for under 10 year olds.

Finally it was about 6pm and we raced to catch the last water show. I have no sense of time so we had missed like the 3 session before that. The water show was really interesting, basically the story line is a bunch of pirates invade the commoners land and they try to kill everyone and kidnap the main guys gf. There were like buildings collapsing, people riding water motor boats, people falling from 10m+. Pretty awesome and you do get quite wet sitting in the front rows :O That's about all my shitty describing skills can capture AHAHA you got to go experience it for yourself!

We were soooo tired from walking that day (checked on my phone we had walked 10km WOW) so we had to get some food into our system. We decided on the Transformers Cyber Café…

Chicken curry and salmon yikes...

Food was pretty darn bad, the salmon was cooked in just water and looked like it had been there for a while Definitely recommend NOT going there. Oh well, at least it filled our tummies.

That brings me to the end of our day at Universal Studios, definitely worth going just for the photos, I mean the place is just so pretty! As for rides, if you're a thrill seeker, it's a bit disappointing. But favs were the red and blue rollercoasters and the Egyptian one, you guys definitely have to try.

Thats it for todayyy,  bye guys! Come back for Day #3 and find out what we did at Adventure Cove Water Park :D
