#1 to remind myself of all the things I buy (yes, so much that when I tidy my room, once in a blue moon, I'm like dafaq...WHAT is this, WHEN did i get this, WHY did i get this??? ._.)
#2 i've tried a lot of shit and yes, have also gotten ripped off a lot (not proud T_T). So I thought if I write about some of these things I buy and review them, maybe it will help you guys find the good stuff without wasting money on random crap (yes, money ain't easily earn when you're a uni student)
#3 although this will be mainly about beauty and fashion, I'm also planning on writing about my travels, just as a record of my memories. Kinda like a journal I can read when I'm old and wrinkly. ANYWAYS, I believe travel is one of the best ways to spend your money and call me cliche but I wanna travel the world like everyone other 19 year old out there. PLUS, I recently came back from a 2 week trip overseas to Singapore and HK so i thought why not do like a travel diary kinda thing and review some of the fun places I went/food I ate for y'all to read. Maybe after reading this you would have your next trip planned, maybe you'll give up on ever wanting to go to these places, who knows :O
Day #1
SO i never thought this would happen to me but my long awaited exiting-ass trip overseas with my bf did not start all that well. Our flight was planned to leave 10pm on the 7th of July. We board the plane, I put on my mask (gotta keep that face hydrated) and fall asleep. I wake up about an hour later and guess what. We were still on the ground. WHAT THE HECK?? So the plane had some "technical difficulties" (which I later learned was a bird, which decided to fly into the turbo) and had to fix it up. Only problem is, Sydney Airport wouldn't let planes fly after 11pm (WTF). SO we got shooed off the plane with a hundred or two other pissed off customers and line up for 3 hours to get a "resolution". They had about 5 people serving the two hundred of us, TWO HUNDRED. After finally being able to talk to someone (tried to remain calm but I think they could see steam shooting out from my ears) they organised a hotel for us to stay at. So its about 4AM when we get to Novotel in Darling Harbour and we had to head back at 8AM for the flight. 4hours of sleep OMG. Anyways and thats how our first day in Singapore was reduced to a first NIGHT in Singapore *ahh cries*. So first night, we are dead from the flight and as soon as we leave the airport... BAM its like an oven out there (and its like 6pm WTF?) Mind you, I came from 10 degrees in Sydney. It not even just heat, its like STICKY. Anyways, we get to the hotel, level 6. So me and my bf were like super confused. We asked for a high level and we literally got the lowest hotel level...? Later I remembered what I wrote in the notes. "No corner room and high level please" AHAHAHA. They must've thought we were cray. No high level OMG. Thats why English is a compulsory subject in high school, I get it now. Other than that, our hotel room was pretty nice. YAY (That view though HA)![]() |
Carlton City Hotel |
That got me pretty excited and I was keen to go explore before we grab dinner. WITHOUT checking out the stores opposite our hotel (I'll get back to how dumb we were in the Day 5 post) we head off to the China Town Street Markets which was about a 15 minute walk away. When we got there, there were little stalls selling souvenirs but nothing really caught my eye. We got really hungry from the walk (I swear you burn double the calories from sweating) so we didn't think much when we saw a chinese restaurant. We headed right in. PLUS it was called "Fat Boy Chinese Restaurant", I mean c'mon, we had to go in. SO something you gotta watch out for in Singapore. Something that caught the naive me TOTALLY off guard. The waiter asks you whether you want nuts and tea. That SHITS NOT FREE, it gets charged to your bill!?! ALSO don't trust the menu prices because there's another 10% service charge and 8% GST on it. So... we end up paying $60+ for two dishes and some rice =='. Alright, at least the food was yummy.

Salted Egg Yolk Prawns and Trio Egg Spinach |
Normally I don't really like vegetables but this spinach was sooooo 10/10 good. It's flavour was pretty much masked by the three types of egg: salted duck egg, century egg and egg whites. YUMMO, best when you soak the whole thing (and its soup) in rice. MMMM. The prawns were meh.. like a 5/10.
After that, we thought we'd go shopping to walk off our food babies so we head towards the nearby mall "Chinapoint Mall". It was about 9:30-10pm at this point and we walk in, all the shops are closing :( I did get a quick wonder around Etude House but the stuff there is so expensive... its like the same as those resell stores in the city (Sydney). You can get it cheaper online so I passed on buying anything. Then we walked past a desert bar and I gave my bf that creepy grin ;D. So of course we got ice-cream (HAHA what fatsos).

Tiramisu, Coconut and Macadamia Flavour on Waffle Cone |
Was originally going to get a scoop each but this waffle cone was only a dollar more so why not :P. This was about $10 but is pretty standard in Australia. If you ever go there its on the ground level (entrance level) and GET THE MACADAMIA ONE 9/10!! It is MMMMM.
On the way back we saw a pretty interesting temple thing. Didn't go in because the bf insisted you had to be that religion to go in... Dont think it worked that way.... but oh well.

Indian Temple (one of the oldest in South East Asia) :o |
Pretty much that concludes our first "day". Didn't do much except for eat, eat, eat. OH and did I mention I like to eat? AHAH.
Alright, bye for now guys. I'll be back soon with Day 2!!
<3 Hannah.
PS. If you're not into this whole travel diary thing then come back after a bit because I'm going to talk about my massive HK Haul after this Singapore thing :D
